The Alienware 18 Area 51 is currently the best gaming laptop you can buy. We like it better than all competitors including the Legion 9i. - It has a better display to game on than the Legion 9i. 2560 x 1600 will give you more frames than the Legion 9i's 4K+ screen with a higher maximum refresh rate than the Legion for e-sports titles. - It is the 2nd powerful gaming laptop coming in slightly behind the Legion 9i. - The Alienware has an extremely effective cooling solution. It remains cool under load. You can also run on Balance mode for very little fan noise, yet still get 95% of the laptops performance. The cooling here is significantly better than on the 16 inch model. - The Alienware is premium. Its well built and includes all the bells and whistles. Thunderbolt 5, 2.5 GbE ethernet, SD card reader, PCIe 5.0 SSD, and two RAM slots and several SSD slots. - The Alienware is more comfortable to use than other large gaming laptops. Even though its thick, its keyboard deck slopes down and is soft and rounded. It isn't perfect though, as despite the high price tag and extremely large size and weight, it still has its Wi-Fi 7 card soldered. In addition, the 2026 refresh still omits a Mini-LED screen option as seen on Acer's Predator Helios 18 & Asus's Strix Scar 18.
