Today at Tech World Shanghai 2025, Lenovo announced the new Lenovo Legion 9i, an 18-inch gaming laptop designed for both gamers and developers.

Boasting the most powerful laptop components currently available, Intel's Arrow Lake 275HX and Nvidia's RTX 5090, the Legion Pro 9i Gen 10 is going to be a top notch performer with a gorgeous, 3D capable screen to boot.

High-End Components

The Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor and up to NVIDIA RTX 5090 GPU deliver a combined total of up to 280W for CPU & GPU load. Lenovo is hoping to ensure maximum performance across all applications, be
they gaming or game development.

To keep these components cool, the Legion 9i has the Coldfront: Vapor thermal system which includes a vapor chamber, hyper chamber and quad fan system with dedicated fans over both the Wi-Fi card and SSD and RAM. Lenovo claims this will keep the system cool under heavy loads as well as quiet at <48dB at 280W in Performance Mode. Can't wait to

Configurable & Upgradeable

The Lenovo Legion 9i delivers studio-grade performance, with four slots for RAM. This means the laptop can support up to 192GB of dual channel DDR5 RAM to speed up rendering and rasterizing tasks, with more than enough headroom for even the most demanding games.

With four SSD slots, one of which is PCIe Gen 5, it also supports up to 8TB of SSD storage—enough space to keep both games and creative assets in one place.

High Resolution 3D-Capable Display

The 18” display on the device features up to 4K resolution in 2D, with optional 2K 3D support for designers who regularly work in 3D modeling. Your 3D work can be visualized without the need for a headset or separate display. The 3D display uses a combination of eye-tracking and lenticular lens array to deliver a 3D image without the need for special glasses.

Both gamers and developers alike can also benefit from the Dual Mode
functionality, switching from a 240Hz refresh rate at 4K up to a 440Hz refresh rate at Full HD resolution when lightning fast, smooth graphics are paramount.

Additionally, the display features a 93% screen-to-body ratio, maximizing display space with razor thin bezels. We can't wait to see it in person!

Stunning Chassis & Great Ports

The top cover of each Lenovo Legion 9i is going to be a stand-out. The Forged Carbon laptop lid is lighter and stronger than aluminum, and thanks to the handcrafted manufacturing process, each top cover is one-of-a-kind.

For ports, HDMI and Lenovo's proprietary charging port in ports are located on the rear of the laptop with an additional variety of ports on both sides, including a pair of Thunderbolt 5 ports on the left side. Very nice to see.

When Can You Get One?

The Lenovo Legion 9i will be available initially in China and expected to be available in North America in the fall of 2025. Full pricing information will be coming soon and as much as this laptop sounds exciting, I am not excited for how big that price tag is going to be.
