If you're planning to buy a laptop for school, now is a great time to check whether your state offers a back-to-school sales tax holiday.
Many states waive sales tax on qualifying computers, school supplies, and other education-related purchases for a limited time.
Florida's annual Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday runs through August 20. During the holiday, qualifying personal computers and computer accessories priced at $1,500 or less are exempt from state sales tax, along with many other back-to-school items.
Keep in mind that every state has different eligibility rules, price limits, and qualifying products. Before you buy, check your state's requirements to make sure your purchase qualifies.
