Spectre 16

HP Spectre 16

Overall the Spectre 16 is simply not good enough vs it's competitors. Given the cons below, those looking for a 16inch laptop that has strong graphics capabilities should buy the Yoga Pro 9i or the MacBook Pro 16. Those just looking for a large screen laptop who don't care about graphics should buy the MacBook Air 15 or the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 16

Pros
- Screen is good. It is a fast refresh rate, high resolution, OLED panel.
- Keyboard is comfortable to type on, and the layout is standard, so no miss-presses.
- Can be used as a tablet

Cons
- Graphics performance is unimpressive for a large 16inch laptop. It maxes out at an RTX 4050
- Laptop is very heavy given its limited graphics capabilities
- CPU performance is also limited, there are far better performing Core Ultra 7 laptops than this one
- Gets very warm to the touch in all use cases, significantly so on the right side
- Fans can be heard even in light use. They will be off for a while, and then suddenly come on for a while, then turn off
- Trackpad is extremely large, you will have to place your palm on it. It has palm rejection issues, so your cursor will jump
- It is expensive
