Acer Swift 16 AI
The Acer Swift 16 AI is a lightweight 16-inch premium-style laptop with a great OLED display, strong Panther Lake CPU performance, a huge haptic trackpad, and solid everyday usability. Its main downsides are occasional palm rejection issues, noticeable fan noise, only average build and keyboard quality, and limited performance for heavier creative work. If it drops below $1200, and especially below $1000, we strongly recommend it over Intel Wildcat Lake laptops or the MacBook Neo that are around that $1000 price point, as the Intel Panther Lake CPUs, especially the X7 & X9 models with the Arc B390 iGPU, are a huge step up in terms of being usable for longer and being able to grow with the user.

Excellent OLED display with high 2880 x 1800 resolution, vivid colors, deep blacks, and 120Hz refresh rate.
Big haptic trackpad that has stylus support.
Stays cool to the touch even under heavy use.
A very light laptop in the category of 16-inch laptops.
Chassis is not as solid or premium-feeling as a MacBook or XPS.
Glossy display can be annoying in very bright spaces or direct sunlight.
No charging-capable port on the right side.
Fans are noticeable even in daily usage. Under heavy CPU load they get loud enough to be nearly in gaming-laptop territory.
