We wanted this value-oriented laptop to be cheaper for what it offers in terms of style and performance. Dell skimps in a few key places like the processor and display which make this laptop hard to recommend above $1,000. If you're set on Alienware, we'd recommend looking at it's big brother, the 16X. That one offers a stronger, more modern CPU, and a better display.
